Disclaimer and Enrollment Policies

DISCLAIMER: The components of Focusing on the Children Parent Education Courses are intended for educational purposes only. The presentation of this material is not intended to constitute mental health therapy, give information on specific mental health disorders, and provide mental health therapy for parents or children, or medications to treat mental health disorders. Participants are encouraged to discuss specific mental health questions with a mental health therapist of their choice. Focusing on the Children Parent Education offers classes that are educational in nature and are not designed to provide individual legal advice to parents or children. Focusing on the Children does not provide guidance for parents who want to change custody or visitation.

Enrollment Policies

Focusing on the Children, hereinafter referred to as "school", hereby agrees to provide the party, hereinafter referred to as "student", with parent education. Courses online are to be completed during the time frame of 90 days.

Course Participation: At various points throughout the online course, our system will ask questions and/or passwords that need to be answered correctly. If you do not answer the questions correctly, you will have another opportunity to answer another question correctly in order to advance.

REFUND POLICY:

The course fee will be subject to a $15.00 administrative fee and the balance will be refunded when:

  1. the course has not been completed and a certificate of completion has not been issued and
  2. the course of instruction is discontinued by the 'student' and
  3. refund request is submitted in writing via email, fax or USPS and
  4. refund request is made within 10 days of registration.

A FULL REFUND WILL BE GRANTED WHEN:

  1. The enrollment of student was procured as a result of any misrepresentation in advertising, promotional materials of the school, or representation made by an OWNER or employee of the school. All refunds will be completed within 2 business days after initial request.

ACCEPTANCE GUARANTEE:

All courses come with an Acceptance Guarantee. If for any reason our program(s) or certificate(s) are not accepted for a court or legal requirement, we will refund the course fee in full with written proof of decline from the court or agency that declined the certificate of completion. The guarantee does not apply to premium delivery options.

You will need to contact us within 10 days after course completion to notify us of the decline. We will have 30 days to work with the agency on your behalf to get the certificate accepted. If in the event they don’t accept your certificate, we will refund your entire course fee. Please keep in mind that it is your responsibility to confirm with the judge, probation, caseworker, or your attorney as to whether a distance-learning class will meet your requirements.

GRADING AND PROGRESS POLICY:

By enrolling in the program, you acknowledge and understand that you must do the following to receive a certificate of completion:

  1. Participate in the entire Educational Class and meet the time requirement.
  2. Correctly answer questions when instructed by the program.
  3. Successfully complete the course without the help or assistance of others.
  4. Score 70% or higher on the final exam.
  5. Agree that you will not allow another person to complete the course for you.
  6. Understand that if you make below 70%, you may review the program and retest.
  7. Understand that you do not have to complete the entire course at one time as long as you complete the entire course within the time period.

PRIVACY POLICY:

By Enrolling in any class with Focusing on the Children, you acknowledge and understand the following:
  1. I understand that all information collected by Focus on the Children will be used only for validation and issuing my certificate.
  2. For my protection, financial information is for billing purposes and is NOT stored in any database. Focusing on the Children will not sell or allow any collected information to be used by a third party company.
  3. I understand I must complete the course within 90 days from the date of registration.
  4. I understand that interruptions beyond the course owner's control could possibly occur.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Focusing on the Children is prohibited from issuing a certificate of completion if the student has not met all the requirements of course completion, and the student should not accept a certificate under such circumstances. Your certificate will be deemed invalid if the student:

  1. Signs the certificate without receiving the mandated hours of instruction and/or
  2. Falsifies any information on certificate.

ENROLLING:

Student enrolled swears/affirms that they are the person who is assigned to take the course and that all statements on the registration form are true and correct. Student also confirms that they have read the provisions addressed above and fully understands.

This agreement constitutes the entire contract between the school and the student. No verbal assurance or promises not contained herein shall bind the school or the student.
